Who we are and how to contact us
eMidas provides market-research, charting, strategy, backtesting, optimisation and alerting tools. eMidas is the controller of personal information used to operate your account.
For privacy questions or rights requests, email emidas.noreply@gmail.com. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, verification status and authentication records.
- Consent records: policy versions and timestamps, plus your optional marketing choice.
- Research content: watchlists, layouts, strategies, alerts, backtest settings, results and optimisation experiments.
- Technical data: security logs, device/browser information and essential session or local-storage identifiers.
- Communications: support requests and service emails such as verification and alert messages.
How and why we use information
We use account and research data to perform our contract with you: create and secure your account, save your work, fetch market data, run tests and optimisations, and deliver alerts. We use limited technical data for our legitimate interests in security, reliability, abuse prevention and product improvement.
We send marketing only when you make a separate, optional choice. You may withdraw that choice at any time; doing so does not affect service messages or earlier lawful processing.
Market data, AI and service providers
To provide features, we may use infrastructure, email and analytics suppliers, and market-data services including Yahoo Finance, Twelve Data and Binance. These services receive only what is needed to fulfil a request.
If you enable GPT-assisted optimisation, relevant strategy rules, parameters and backtest metrics are sent to OpenAI to propose a candidate. Your password is never included. AI-assisted processing is optional and candidates are not deployed automatically.
Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it to contracted processors, professional advisers, authorities when legally required, or a successor in a corporate transaction. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where required, we use recognised safeguards such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses.
Retention and security
We keep account and saved research data while your account is active. Following deletion, we remove or anonymise it within a reasonable operational period, except where security, legal or backup obligations require limited retention. Consent and transaction records may be retained as evidence of compliance.
We use access controls, encrypted transport, hashed passwords and operational safeguards. No online service can promise absolute security, so please use a unique password and protect your login.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and may withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity. You are not subject to an eMidas decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.
Cookies, local storage and children
eMidas uses essential browser storage for authentication, theme, display preferences and workspace continuity. If non-essential analytics or advertising technologies are introduced, we will request any consent required before using them.
The service is not intended for children under 18. Please contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information.
Changes to this notice
We may update this policy as the product or law changes. We will post the new version here and provide prominent notice, or request a fresh agreement, when a material change requires it.
